ALL AROUND FOLKS

La banda All Around Folks surge de una mezcla de ritmos tan singular como atractiva; los tintes musicales de las raíces estadounidenses, como el folk, el country y el blues-rock, se fusionan con la influencia de la música clásica hindustani. Así aparece en sus canciones el sitar, que compaginan con la guitarra acústica. La batería convive en sinergia con la tabla, un instrumento percusivo clásico de India, que conforman su sección rítmica. Un bajo eléctrico fretless y la presencia de teclas/sintes nos acercan al mundo eléctrico actual. Melodías a dos voces en la tradición de la "americana" y una instrumentación mágica y sugerente, hacen de ellos una banda original y única.

Tras meses detrás del telón componiendo y fantaseando con nuevos sonidos, la banda se presenta ahora muy fresca en los ruedos no sólo con este material inédito, sino también con nuevos integrantes instrumentistas. All Around Folks ha incorporado a su conjunto a Jesús Zayas al bajo; Jorge Lozano a la tabla hindú; Miguel Arriero a la batería y percusión; y Fer López-Andújar como teclista de pianos, Hammond y sintes. Con esta potente mezcla instrumental, la banda fortalece la percusión valiéndose por vez primera de tabla y batería al mismo tiempo y apuesta por sonidos más electrónicos.

Sólo han pasado dos años desde que la banda madrileña lanzara, de la mano de Milana Música Records, su primer LP y conquistara al público de la Sala Clamores de Madrid en su concierto debut. Entonces, Kristin Wheeler, vocalista neoyorkina; y los madrileños María Coronado, vocalista, y Álvaro L. Melgar, guitarrista y sitarista, rompieron moldes, tendencias y estereotipos urbanos con un elenco de instrumentistas de prestigio nacional. Entonces, los tres compositores combinaron las cuerdas de un bajo fretless y la tabla hindú junto a guitarras acústicas, violines, bombos y otros instrumentos poco exhibidos en España pero de gran tradición clásica hindú, como el bansuri, la tampura o el sitar.
